First maintenance
Well we did the first big maintenance on the MX5. Since the car has not been driven for 3,5 years, it did not go as easy as hoped. A lot of parts where rusted so difficult to get bolts loose. Also resulted in a coolant leakage, which we could fix with a used part.
We changed the HLA’s  and the ticking is completely gone. The old HLA’s we will refurbish in the near future. Always handy to have a second set
2 of the spark plugs had oil on them. we thought i was the valve cover gasket. but with a cold start we still get some black smoke, so that we still have to investigate in the future.
Last problem was that we broke the water pump mounting, so we re drilled the holes and put some helicoils in it. Problem solved 🙂
Planning is to rebuild the engine next year, and maybe put forged internals for a later turbo charge.
